If you are looking for a job or just to network, or if you are a hiring manager or recruiter looking to fill a job, STC-New England has a service for you. The Member Profile/Resume Bank provides information about members and links to their resumes. The profile posting service is free for STC-New England members.

The STC New England Chapter offers the following networking links. You do not need to be a member of STC to join these networking groups.

Your Chapter Needs YOU!

New volunteers are always valuable since they contribute new ideas and additional skills.

We all have the same goals, such as, to further our skills, learn more about and promote our profession, and network with others. Please pitch in to help us provide services to you and our STC New England Chapter members.

For more information about volunteering contact Rick Lippincott at rjl6955@yahoo.com.

Working with recruiters, from the recruiters point of view

From last month's program, we learned that job searchers have the following issues:

1. Why don’t I hear back from the agency once I apply?

2. Why don’t I hear back anything when I submit to online jobs?

3. Why are rates lower through agencies than if they are independent contractors?.

In a panel format, Caleb Stewart from Randolph Associates, and Carol Szatkowski, from Clear Point Consultants will answer these questions, as well as, discuss various topics related to job searching, the job market, and working with recruiters.

Notice, if you are attending the STC Summit in Chicago:

The G8 & NATO Summits are taking place 19-21 May, overlapping the STC Summit by two days. These events are in downtown Chicago, while the STC Summit is 30 miles west of the city in Rosemont, so we do not anticipate any issues.

We encourage you to make your hotel reservation at the Hyatt and book your airfare as early as possible. STC has a block of rooms at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, but once that's depleted you may find room rates greatly increased.
