Spotlight on...New Judging
|
"When
I interviewed at my current company, the interview team asked that
I review a user guide, make suggestions on how to improve the guide,
and return for the second interview prepared to discuss my proposed
ideas, suggestions, and enhancements.
"My experience as an STC Competitions judge helped immensely with
this task, since I felt familiar with the competitions criteria for
award-winning print documentation. I went home and reviewed the book
cover to cover, just as though it was a competitions entry. When I
arrived for the second interview, I came prepared with a proposed
layout, updated TOC and index, a glossary, and new cover and binding
ideas. The interview team responded positively to most of my suggestionsand
decided to hire me!"
